Sermon On Monday 22th August 2022
2 Corinthians 4:8
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.
Dalam segala hal kami ditindas, namun tidak terjepit; kami habis akal, namun tidak putus asa.
Sister in the Lord Jesus Christ!
In living this life none of us has ever felt free from suffering, loneliness, despair, criticism and injustice. This means that all must experience problems, and even feel oppressed.
The same thing as what we experience, has been experienced by the Apostles of Christ, namely Paul and his friends in their ministry to the early church in the first century. They were persecuted, experienced many sufferings, such as: rejected, hated, persecuted, imprisoned because of the preaching of the gospel of Christ.
Does that mean that God brings tragedy to our lives? Not. God is good, and He will not cause evil or do evil to those who live according to His will. On the other hand, God can use the difficult and stressful times that occur in the lives of His children for good. He can use the problems we face and experience to teach us to keep trusting Him, and relying on Him in every problem we face.
In 2 Corinthians 4:8, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.
This verse was conveyed by Paul to the believers who followed Christ in the city of Corinth, who at that time experienced a lot of suffering, trouble, and persecution because they were followers of Christ, to give them encouragement and strength even though they had to face heavy burdens and problems.
Paul explained to the Corinthians how he and the other apostles were able to survive and not give up and not give up, but they remained zealous and strong. What reasons keep them from being crushed even when they are being bullied, and being resourceful but not giving up? That is because they have the Spirit of faith who believes in Jesus Christ (verse 12). It is the spirit that awakens their steadfast faith, so that they do not waver even in the face of death, because the Lord who died and rose again has given them strength and zest for life, and will enable them to live in hope which ultimately gives heavenly joy in carrying out their duties. mission of proclaiming the kingdom of God.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
There are many people who are desperate, give up and are reluctant to fight because they feel there is no hope for themselves to succeed. By measuring and relying on himself, before the combat immediately retreats / give up, his life is getting darker. When despair begins to engulf the soul, the light of hope will look dimmer. Moreover, we feel that we are treated unfairly around us, removed, then our lives are getting bleak, dim, and even hopeless to die.
Dear sister of the Lord Jesus!
The word of God this morning greets us, never give up. No matter how difficult the problems we face, you must never give up. I, you are God’s children who have been redeemed with His holy blood, He will give us strength and certainty. But we must rely on Him and trust and hope always in Him. The Spirit of God will always be with you, all of us.
Jangan perna menyerah.
Tuhan tak pernah janji langit selalu biru tetapi Dia berjanji selalu menyertai. Tuhan tak pernah janji jalan selalu rata, tetapi Dia berjanji berikan kekuatan.
Jangan pernah menyerah, jangan berputus asa , Mukjijat Tuhan ada saat hati menyembah.
Jangan menyerah, jangan berputus asa, Mukjizat Tuhan ada bagi yang setia dan percaya.
Amin
